London, my favorite place!

When I saw that we were writing a post about our favorite place, London was the only place that came to mind.

I had the opportunity to study abroad there in the Summer of 2017. There were many things I loved about it including: meeting people from all types of different cultures, learning about the city and country's (England) rich history, and just getting to walk around in such a beautiful city with amazing architecture.

(All of these photos are photos that I took or had someone take of me with my own camera!)

Here is a photo of me that my roommate Jessica took of me on my camera sitting across the river of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

Having fun at the Warner Brothers studio tour of Harry Potter!

A sunny day in London :) We got lucky and it only rained about twice the whole time we were there!

Our flats were RIGHT next to the British Museum. Wow, what an incredible place filled with amazing artifacts.

Trafalgar Square. I would walk here through Covent Garden. It was a nice place to relax or people watch (one of my favorite things to do). Fun fact: right after I took this photo, I walked down the street and saw RIHANNA! She was arriving to her hotel as she was in town for a movie premiere!

My roommates and I exploring the ancient Roman baths in Bath, England!
Last but not least, another photo of Big Ben at night time! They had just started reconstruction of the tower and the building but it was still beautiful!

I had a blast and if I could do it all over again, I would!

Thanks for reading, until next time - Em

  1. What a totally fun collection of pictures, Emily: from Roman baths to Rihanna! And of course there are all kinds of myths and legends and folktales associated with London, so maybe you will want to explore that as a topic for this class too. There are also modern legends too; like every city, London has its urban legends: Urban Legends About London ... old and new, so many London stories that you could explore!

    1. Ah! Definitely creepy to read right before bed but it is something I'd like to look more into. Thank you!

    2. ha ha, that is so true about urban legends: sometimes they are totally over-the-top sentimental feel-good stuff... or intense gruesome horror: either extreme works when it comes to a legend's popularity, true or not. :-)
